Mr. Garrison

For a Valentine's Day treat, Tony took me to see a dress rehearsal of Prairie Home Companion at the Fitz. PHC has always been special to me as it kept me in touch with my inner Minnesotan when I was in graduate school in NY, but I had never seen it live.

It was AWESOME! The musical guests were The Wailin' Jennys (gorgeous) and The Boys of the Lough (virtuosos of the highest order). Of course, the true highlight of the show was Garrison Keillor. He is this frumpy, dumpy, witty, wise, VERY funny old(er) man who seems to improv his way through the show.

We then listened to the live show on Saturday, and it was like 80% different! It was impressive and sentimental and hysterically funny and beautiful. PLEASE go and see it if you ever get the chance. It was one of the best performances I've ever seen.

Oh wow! I would love to go see Prairie Home Companion. My Dad always used to listen to it. Actually, he probably still does. :D

I just heard they are doing a kid-friendly show this saturday - and since I noticed you had kids and I don't, you guys could enjoy it for me and my future kids :)
